How often do you sit down and ponder life, realizing there is so much out there to reach out and grab? I hope this blog will be inspiration to anyone who feels like they can't survive in this competitive world. I'm a young college student trying to survive, and I believe anything is possible.

My phone stopped working today so now I have to spend an hour to take a trip out to the Apple store to get it fixed. I was a little irritated at first because I have SO much to do (Homework) and so little time to do it, but after counting to 10 and realizing it’s just a minor glitch in the big scheme of things, I’m ok.  I so often take all that I have for granted. I am healthy, have a caring family, and have a clear vision of where I would like my life to go. It’s easy to let these minor things take control of the moment. The sad part is when they do, the people around suffer as well because they get to deal with a snappy attitude. What kind of impression is that leaving? Do I really want that to be their last impression of me?

It seems like many of the people in this Community are . . . let’s say wiser (Older) than I and may have more experience in these matters. This is just a chance for me to vent a little about these things. I’m sure many, if not all of you have had similar experiences. Now it’s time for me to work this into trading. How does your attitude affect your trading? It seems to me if I’m in a bad mood I can’t think clear and may not make the best decisions. What tactics do you use in calming your nerves so you can make wise decisions?  I know when my mind is racing a million miles an hour; I need to take time off to chill out. Usually I go for a run to think and release some tension. To me, it seems important to have your mind in the right place when you are trading, especially if you are a day trader.

My Thoughts . . .

To start off, I would like to be honest in why I am here in this Community. In being a young and growing trader, it’s difficult for me to grasp this concept. It’s interesting and seems like an adrenaline rush, but I have so much on my plate it is difficult for me to find time to learn. I feel like this community may be a good starting point, but I feel it will be years before I am ready to place trades and actually enjoy it. Right now I feel safe putting my money into a Roth IRA and finding a few good stocks to keep my money in for a while. Maybe this is a good time to put my money in since the market is down? Do you have any suggestions on good companies to invest in?

To me it seems like it is a big gambling game. You never know where your money is going to go. I feel like I’d rather buy a house with my money and let it grow that way; of course the housing market goes up and down as well so that may be similar. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is I would like some encouragement from you all. What words of wisdom can you provide that can help me have a passion for trading?

Trading seems like a small part of the big scheme of life. My main passion in life is to make a difference. I want to leave a legacy that impacts the lives of others for years to come even after I die. The cool thing is, many people do this through their careers and for some that is trading. It’s so amazing for me to see that there are so many different career paths in lives and each and everyone makes a difference.
